MY STORY

A journey towards health

James Dowler

Battling years of chronic illness led me on a roller-coaster of a journey, exploring all types of healing modalities. It wasn’t until I discovered the connection between the mind and the body and understood emotional dysregulation to be the underlying cause of my physical health issues that my symptoms began to ease.

My work has consistently reflected my healing—the challenges I’ve faced, my own journey of recovery, and observations and insights that I’ve gleaned along the way.

The evolution of my work

Most people reading this will know me as Breathe With James. I created a successful breathwork business and launched a breathwork app, but then I realised I wanted my work to expand and incorporate wider nervous system health too.

As powerful as the breath is, it’s important to recognise that it is as aspect of nervous system health, not the entirety.

My current work is focused on the Breathwork Mastery Teacher Training, supporting my one-on-one clients, and pursuing a Master’s degree in Jungian psychology.

My intention moving forward is to weave together psyche and soma - not one or the other, but integrating the benefits of both nervous system health and Jungian psychology.

Alongside Jamie Clement and Satori Clarke, I run the Breathwork Mastery Teacher Training.

Training the next generation of breathwork facilitators with rigour and integrity - grounded in science and soul.

My breathwork app (and first significant creation!) is filled with breathwork practices designed to down-regulate your nervous system and move you into a more relaxed and settled state.

There is also a ‘Learn’ section where you can learn about breathwork and nervous system science.

I have delivered talks at corporations such as Google, Nike, and The Prince’s Trust. I have also spoken at events like Balance Festival and We Create Space, and have appeared on numerous podcasts.

One-to-One: Coaching

My 1:1 work has a predominantly somatic orientation. I support people in establishing a sense of safety and stabilisation in their nervous systems and, from there, building emotional resilience.
